The History of BPW-Washington
BPW Beginnings

BPW/USA was founded in 1919 in St. Louis MO.

The BPW Port Orchard Local was founded in 1946 and has been going strong ever since. It continues to assist in improving the lives of men and women in our community and throughout Washington. This is done by providing educational programs, being active through community service, raising monies and awarding scholarships, providing mentorship, and providing a venue for active networking among working women. 

Current Achievements

  • Two scholarships awarded yearly:  [1] to a South Kitsap High School Senior and [2] to a woman needing further education to re-entering the workforce.
  • Annual New-Teachers' Breakfast for the South Kitsap School District.
  • Annual Port Orchard Business Expo
  • Individual Development Program
